ZyGEM technology has been developed to allow whole insect DNA extractions
SAMPLE TYPE: INSECT
Many protocols for the extraction of DNA screening of insects for horticultural or research applications require physical maceration of the insect prior to extraction. This limits the ability to develop high throughput methods and programs. ZyGEM technology has been developed to allow whole insect DNA extractions without the need for maceration, allowing 96 samples to be parallel processed in less than 30 minutes. Depending on the insect type the protocol generates sufficient DNA for 100s of downstream PCR reactions.
