forensicGEM™ Storage Card Saliva
This kit extracts DNA from all tested storage cards and its effectiveness at removing nucleoproteins generated DNA of exceptional quality for downstream profiling. Typically FTA cards require a pre-wash step to remove the inhibitors impregnated in the card but the method is simple and easy automated.
forensicGEM™ Storage Card Blood
This kit is specifically formulated for blood on FTA cards with buffers optimized to minimize inhibition from haem and blood proteins. Typically FTA cards require a pre-wash step to remove the inhibitors impregnated in the card but all methods is simple and easy automated.
Careful optimization of the forensicGEM™ Saliva method has allowed us to generate buffers and methods that gently release DNA from cigarette butts while leaving the tars, phenolics and other inhibitors behind.
