The challenge of marker assisted breeding programs is twofold, minimizing the cost of the screening process, and minimizing the time to select the right crosses. The high-throughput, simple protocol for DNA extraction from young leaf tissue from ZyGEM greatly reduces the barriers to throughput in these applications.
Focusing on young leaf tissue from the key crop plants, the ZyGEM DNA preparation kit allows entire cross collections to be screened in a single day, without the downstream complications that come from chemical preparation methods.
