Rising concern over food safety has increased the demand for improved pathogen testing in the food processing industry. Because it offers improved specificity, enhanced understanding of microbial epidemiology and turnaround times measured in hours rather than days, DNA pathogen testing using sequence-specific nucleic acid tests (NATs) is being adopted in an increasing number of food processing plants.
ZyGEM’s novel DNA extraction technology can play an important role in facilitating adoption of nucleic acid-based testing technologies, enabling testers to complete the sample preparation required for these testing techniques rapidly and cost-effectively.
